The Rifugio Vaccaro is located amidst the sun-drenched pastures on the southern slope of Monte Vaccaro at an altitude of 1,517 metres.
The Rifugio is generally only open upon request. The keys can be obtained from the Parrese Hiking Group in Parre.
Always open, however, is the bivouac area at the right end of the long building, which is equipped with a fireplace, a simple kitchen, sink, large table with benches, along with three bunk beds without mattresses or blankets.
Outside, there is a large barbecue, a fountain with a basin, various benches and even a porch with tables and benches.
